Fears mount over Kash Patel’s use of FBI to persecute leftwing protest groups “There is no major domestic terrorism threat, or concern for public safety in terms of violence directed at people, from the anti-fascist movement,” said Heidi Beirich, co-founder of GPAHE, who cited well known statistics pointing to the far right as the overwhelming domestic terror threat to the US. “[If the FBI goes down this path] the FBI would pursue pure folly–letting violent actors metastasize, while hunting a bogeyman that doesn’t exist.
GPAHE’s take: GPAHE warned in February that the elevation of Kash Patel to head the FBI would lead to the most comprehensive weaponization of justice in American history. That is now coming true, as Patel moves to target anti-fascist and BLM protesters, whom he and Trump have labeled as enemies of the administration, rather than those movements, such as white supremacists, that pose clear safety threats to the public based on their long track records of involvement in domestic terrorism and other forms of violence.

Uncloseted Media: Biblically Responsible Investing Is Booming and LGBTQ Americans Are Paying the Price
“What they’re doing is demonizing an entire community,” says Wendy Via, co-founder and president of GPAHE. “Biblically Responsible Investing [BRI] creates this false equivalency for discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and people of faith. It’s just not the same. The gay community has worked for years and years to get folks the rights and the protections that they have earned and deserve. And so a company shouldn’t be dinged for being inclusive [referring to the practice of excluding LGBTQ+ affirming companies from investment.]”
GPAHE’s take: Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) is yet another way that Christian nationalists are fueling the rising wave of anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment. By framing discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals as a matter of religious freedom, BRI is punishing companies that have supportive LGBTQ+ policies by withholding investment in order to pressure them into rolling back diversity initiatives. As the movement gains momentum, we’ll likely see the reversal of decades of progress on LGBTQ+ workplace rights at some companies.
