New from GPAHE: Active Club Chapters Growing Globally
A new report from GPAHE reveals a shocking 25 percent increase in chapters of the neo-Nazi Active Club network worldwide. Since October 2023, at least 187 chapters have been documented in 27 countries, including new chapters in the U.S., Germany, Switzerland, Colombia, and Finland. The decentralized white supremacist network—founded by American and Russian neo-Nazis—promotes combat training and propaganda in preparation for an imagined race war. Particularly alarming is the surge in “Youth Clubs” targeting teenage boys across 42 U.S. states. The movement’s growing global footprint, coordination with extremist parties and groups, underscore its transnational threat.

El País – Budapest police authorizes an ultra demonstration that coincides with the alternative Pride march (La Policía de Budapest autoriza una manifestación ultra que coincide con la marcha alternativa al Orgullo)
GPAHE’s take: Budapest police approved a far-right demonstration organized by ultranationalist group HVIM to take place at the same time and along the same route as this past weekend’s Pride march. Though the Pride march was banned by authorities under Hungary’s anti-LGBTQ+ “propaganda law,” more than 200,000 participants turned out. The decision to allow a potentially violent far-right group to demonstrate while banning Pride follows years of escalating legal attacks on LGBTQ+ rights by Viktor Orbán’s government and comes after the Hungarian prime minister publicly threatened Pride organizers earlier this year. GPAHE warns that these far-right actors, some of whom have ties to violent nationalist militias such as Légió Hungária, are part of a growing extremist movement that uses intimidation and violence to suppress LGBTQ+ visibility and rights.
