GPAHE’s latest analysis reveals that the U.S. has taken over from Hungary the secretariat for the Geneva Consensus Declaration (GCD), the international coalition against abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, a leadership change that has not been publicly announced but is now reflected on the GCD’s website. The shift marks a significant transfer of leadership in a global campaign to roll back reproductive rights and challenge international human rights.
This concerning shift extends beyond the GCD. A new GPAHE investigation shows that the Budapest-based Danube Institute has established a formal U.S. nonprofit tied to former Heritage Foundation officials, MAGA-aligned intellectuals, and Christian nationalist investment circles. As Orbán-backed organizations face mounting scrutiny in Hungary, the move suggests that key elements of his influence network are relocating to the United States, making the U.S. a hub for transatlantic far-right collaborations and the global anti-rights movement.
