CORRECTIV: Secret plan against Germany

“They [meetings between far-right actors in Germany] will show what can happen when the frontmen of right-wing extremist ideas, representatives of the AfD and wealthy sympathizers come together. Their shared goal is the forced deportation of people from Germany based on a set of racist criteria, regardless of whether or not they have German citizenship.”

GPAHE’s take: GPAHE thoroughly investigated German far-right extremist groups, detailing the extremism of groups like the far-right AfD party that was highlighted in CORRECTIV‘s report. We’ve also outlined the sinister plans of Austrian white supremacist Martin Sellner, who was at the meeting, and the generation identity movement he helped co-found and that has long advocated for harsh measures against immigrants and refugees.

CNBC: Advance of far-right parties is the ‘biggest concern’ for Western democracies, Spain’s Prime Minister says

“Support for far-right groups has bolstered in some European nations. In France, Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party has grown in popularity in the polls, while Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party recorded a decisive victory in Dutch general elections in November.”

GPAHE’s take: The rise of the far-right in Europe is nothing new – we’ve been sounding the alarm on the rise of far-right extremism within democratic governments in Western Europe, the U.S., and further afield. In November of 2023, we covered the so-called “Worldwide Freedom Initiative” conference in Paris, which brought together far-right actors in Europe and the United States. As far-right political parties grow in popularity globally, our work to shed light on their extremist and hateful ideologies is more important than ever.

PinkNews: LGBTQ+ groups are helping to stop conversion therapy content on social media

“YouTube still does not ban such [conversion therapy] content in its Hate Speech Policy, while X (formerly Twitter), has removed policies for marginalized communities against misinformation, as per The Advocate.”

GPAHE’s take: Following our 2022 online conversion therapy reports, some tech companies took steps to moderate this dehumanizing content on their platforms, while others have backtracked on their content moderation policies. Accountability is crucial, considering the shockingly accessible conversion therapy content online. Look out for our updated report next week on the accessibility of pro-conversion therapy content online, which highlights the persistence of this medical disinformation, especially in non-English languages.

The Brussels Times: Flemish far-right MEP’s ‘Nazi-like’ language in European Parliament under investigation

“‘He is using the term omvolking, which was also used by neo-Nazis when they met with AfD to discuss the deportation of millions of people from Germany,’ the Dutch MEP explained. ‘This is not an innocent term.’”

GPAHE’s take: We’ve reported that this extremely dangerous language, the white supremacist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory, has been mainstreamed. This theory suggests that white people are being replaced by immigrants, Muslims, and other people of color in their so-called “home” countries, an idea that has inspired an alarming number of mass casualty terrorist attacks globally in recent years.
