Project 2025 Is Here: February 4th

This week we look at how Trump declared America will resume nuclear weapons testing for the first time in 33 years while his Department of Energy quietly gutted the radiation safety rules that have protected workers since 1954. Federal agents raided a Washington Post reporter’s home and arrested two journalists for covering a Minneapolis protest. And the Financial Times revealed that private contractors have collected $22 billion building Trump’s deportation machine.

New from GPAHE: The Streamer “HH” Scandal Represents A Dangerous Convergence Of Misogyny And Nazism

A livestream featuring extremists Nick Fuentes, Andrew Tate, Sneako, and other manosphere influencers praising Hitler illustrates the growing convergence of misogyny and neo-Nazism within mainstream online spaces. As these transnational influencer networks reach millions of young viewers, Nazism is increasingly embraced by the manosphere, fueling hostility and violence against women, the LGBTQ+ community, and other vulnerable groups both online and offline.

New from GPAHE: Ilhan Omar Attacked by Trump-Supporting Extremist at Town Hall

Rep. Ilhan Omar was attacked by a Trump-supporting extremist during a Minneapolis town hall as she called for accountability following the killing of two people by ICE and demanded the resignation of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. GPAHE’s investigation into the suspect’s online history reveals years of racist, dehumanizing rhetoric and fixation on Omar, situating the assault within a broader climate of escalating threats against elected officials fueled by anti-immigrant extremism.

New from GPAHE: White supremacist and German State MP Hold “Remigration” Conference

Austrian white nationalist Martin Sellner appeared alongside Brandenburg state MP Lena Kotré of the far-right AfD at a closed-door event in Vetschau, Germany, promoting “remigration.” Though AfD leaders publicly distanced themselves, footage from the event shows close cooperation between European white supremacists and far-right politicians endorsing remigration’s ethnic cleansing of people of color from the continent. The event underscores the growing connections between extremists and European politicians and officeholders, while ideas once confined to neo-Nazi circles are being mainstreamed into policy positions.

The Guardian: The slopaganda era: 10 AI images posted by the White House – and what they teach us

The Trump White House has turned AI-generated memes into a core political communication strategy, folding far-right internet culture into official government messaging. From Trump cast as a king, pope, or Jedi to racist caricatures of political opponents and stylized images of deportations, these posts rely on provocation, nostalgia, and trolling as opposed to providing information. Experts warn this tactic normalizes extremist aesthetics and narratives under the cover of satire. As Heidi Beirich, co-founder of GPAHE, notes, “It’s absolutely shocking to see such images being deployed by this administration. The idea appeals to racists and white supremacists who think only white people should be in positions of power,” helping carry extremist ideology once confined to neo-Nazi and fringe spaces to millions of people.
