GPAHE at RightsCon 2025: Protecting Shared Societies in the Digital Space
At the global conference RightsCon 2025, GPAHE and Club de Madrid, an association of more than 100 former heads of state, co-hosted “Protecting Shared Societies in the Digital Space.” The panel addressed how tech companies’ decisions to exempt political and influential figures from content moderation fuel hate speech, disinformation, and incitement to violence, undermining democracy and emboldening authoritarianism. The speakers emphasized the urgent need for accountability to protect civic participation, marginalized communities, and democratic values around the globe.

A new investigation into Elon Musk’s AI, Grok, reveals the chatbot labeling Musk as “dangerous,” citing his alignment with fascist rhetoric and potential to incite racial violence. The findings highlight concerns long voiced by GPAHE about Musk’s ties to the far right, the lack of content moderation on X, and Musk’s ability to use his X megaphone to spread racism and conspiracies. Even his own AI finds Musk dangerous.
