NEW from GPAHE: World’s Largest Database on Far-Right and Extremist Symbols A Critical Resource for Countering Hate

Extremist groups exploit symbols to amplify their messages, spread hateful ideologies, and instill fear in targeted communities. These symbols also function as markers of membership and solidarity, akin to gang insignias, making them effective recruitment and intimidation tools.

This is why, earlier this week, GPAHE unveiled the world’s largest database on global far-right and extremist symbols. Originally introduced in mid-2023, this recent expansion has more than doubled the number of entries cataloged, now with over 750 symbols and identifiers, enhancing its effectiveness as a tool to combat hate and extremism. It’s a pivotal resource for tech companies, governments, law enforcement agencies, militaries, and civil society organizations worldwide, enabling them to recognize and address far-right hate movements efficiently. We encourage you to explore the directory and share it with your networks.

NEW from GPAHE: Racist and Misogynistic AI Spreading From 4chan to Mainstream Platforms

Our research sheds light on the concerning trend of right-wing extremists leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to create, manipulate and then distribute highly disturbing racist and misogynistic content. This AI is spreading from underground forums like 4chan to mainstream platforms. GPAHE’s in-depth analysis reveals how these groups are not only using AI to refine their propaganda, but also to target and rapidly recruit more people, posing an unprecedented challenge to online safety and the battle against online hate.

BBC: Hungary resignations leave Viktor Orban in biggest crisis yet

“Hungary has been shaken by the sudden resignations of the two most popular and successful women in an otherwise strongly male-dominated governing party…Worst of all for Mr Orban and his party, the departures of the two women have been followed by an avalanche of allegations about the way he runs the country.”

GPAHE’s take: GPAHE has closely monitored developments in Hungary, highlighting the strong connections between Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Kevin D. Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation. GPAHE this week published evidence of Roberts’ aims to institutionalize Orbánism, which has turned Hungary into an “electoral autocracy,” in the US through Project 2025. Read our analysis of Project 2025 to see the clear lines between this authoritarian blueprint for the US and Hungary’s regime.

Spiegel International: German Identitarians Are Trying to Make a Comeback

“The Identitarians have quietly expanded their structures and established ties with other right-wing extremists, while AfD politicians have appointed Identitarians to posts in their parliamentary offices.”

GPAHE’s take: GPAHE has been sounding the alarm on the major threats posed by the white supremacist conspiracy theory favored by the Identitarian movement, “The Great Replacement” — which is the bedrock ideology of the main Identitarian worldwide organization, Generation Identity (GI). We’ve exposed GI’s activities online and off and  warned of their dangerous relationship with the far right German political party, AfD, aimed at instituting racist Identitarian anti-immigrant policies in Germany.
