NEW: GAADHE Issues A Powerful Call To Action To Tech Giants To Preserve Elections And Democracy

Earlier this week, GPAHE’s in-depth research laid the groundwork for two open letters addressed to tech leaders by the Global Alliance Against Digital Hate & Extremism (GAADHE), which GPAHE co-founded, and the esteemed Club de Madrid, made up of former heads of state. Both letters urge tech companies to fairly enforce content moderation and disinformation rules without exemptions for political and public figures. The incendiary rhetoric of political leaders can make political violence more likely, incite violence and give it direction, and increase fear in vulnerable communities. This call to action is especially crucial during this unprecedented year of global elections.

Read the GAADHE letter and the Club de Madrid letter to grasp the full significance of this call to action. POLITICO covered this effort in its weekly Digital Bridge newsletter.

GPAHE’s Project 2025 Blog Series:

GPAHE continues to track Project 2025’s supporters, and our blog series is an important resource for staying up to date on all things Project 2025.

Check out this week’s update, which covers Project 2025 advisor Turning Point USA’s (TPUSA) troubles in Arizona, where a senior fellow resigned amid forgery accusations, and two TPUSA employees admitted to guilt for attacking a university professor. We’ll also include reactions from Project 2025 supporters to President Biden’s Title IX update, and former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss as she pushes Project 2025’s agenda to a Heritage Foundation audience.

Just Security: American Autocracy Threat Tracker

“We ignore leaders who promise dictatorship—and those who enable them—at our own peril.”

GPAHE’s Take: We’re proud that Justice Security covered our important research in their Threat Tracker. We’ve remained committed to examining Project 2025 this year. Alongside our weekly blog series featured in this newsletter, we’ve reported on the connections between Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán and the Heritage Foundation, the architects of Project 2025. ____________________________________________________________________________

ABC News: Social media companies ‘pouring accelerant on the flames’ of misinformation and extremism, top cop warns

“The conduct of social media giants has been in the spotlight in recent weeks, following the spread of confronting, graphic and false posts in the aftermath of two stabbing attacks in Sydney…disinformation and misinformation that went viral following the attacks highlight the consequences of ‘defiance and indifference’ from social media companies.”

GPAHE’s Take: This is a powerful stance for the Australian Police to take, and GPAHE fully supports their call for tech giants to assume responsibility for ensuring safety for all users across platforms. We’ve repeatedly warned that extremist rhetoric and hate circulated on online platforms does not exist in a vacuum – there is a direct correlation to real-world acts of violence.
