In June 2026, the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE) published a report on the white nationalist Identitarian movement in Europe exploding in popularity, with social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X all facilitating their rapid growth. TikTok deplatformed some Identitarian accounts in response to GPAHE reporting while Instagram and YouTube remained superspreaders of hateful content promoting the white supremacist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory and calls for “remigration,” an ethnic cleansing policy proposal, that often accompanies it.
Immediately following GPAHE’s report, only 13 out of 201 Instagram accounts became inaccessible, and three of 29 YouTube accounts disappeared. Following further intervention by GPAHE with the aid of the Greek Helsinki Monitor (GHM), and it’s co-founder and spokesman Panayote Dimitras, 28 Identitarian accounts are now no longer accessible on Instagram. Identitarians such as Belgian Dries Van Langenhove took to X to decry Meta’s enforcement of their rules after the Remigration Summit, Action Radar Europe and the Danish chapter of the white nationalist Generation Identity (GI) network accounts were deplatformed. The Remigration Summit is an annual conference hosted by the Identitarian movement, at which neo-Nazis from Junge Tat (whose co-founder, Manuel Corchia, has also been deplatformed), Identitarians, and Americans such as former commander-at-large of the U.S. Border Patrol Gregory Bovino spoke. Action Radar Europe, of which Van Langenhove and de-facto leader of the Identitarian movement Austrian Martin Sellner are a part, was also deplatformed. However, Generation Identity Bayern, which goes by Lederhosenrevolte online, has already begun posting on a backup (i.e., ban evasion) account now that their main account has been banned.

YouTube continues to fail in taking meaningful action at curtailing the spread of white supremacy on its platform. Lederhosenrevolte (Generation Identity Bayern) and Raumnahme, the Identitäre Bewegung Deutschland (Identitarian Movement Germany, IBD) podcast, remain on the platform along with other Remigration and “Great Replacement” peddlers, such as the White Papers Policy Institute, the Swiss neo-Nazi group Junge Tat (Youth Action), and the French Identitarian movement Collectif Némésis (Nemesis Collective). Some videos reported by GPAHE were removed, including an interview hosted by “The European Conservative” featuring Renaud Camus, who wrote the book Le Grand Remplacement (The Great Replacement), Martin Sellner, and Harrison Pitt of Restore Britain speaking about remigration. It was deplatformed for “violating YouTube’s policy on hate speech.” So, too, was an interview with Martin Sellner by the channel “Irfan Peci,” which was “removed for violating YouTube’s Terms of Service,” although a precise reason was not detailed. The Remigration Summit YouTube account was also terminated.

GPAHE continues to advocate for the moderation of hateful speech, especially those referring to the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory which has inspired numerous acts of targeted mass violence worldwide, on mainstream platforms. Companies such as Meta, Google, X, and TikTok, the latter of which recently laid off members of its content moderation team, continue to enable the spread of hateful Identitarian ideology, risking the radicalization of violent actors and the safety of marginalized communities.
